We have a great collection of Weakness quotes, but I thought of explaining about weakness since it can mean more than one thing.

Weakness in people is usually of two kinds. The first is the medical variety, where poor health, illness, lack of nourishment, or adverse conditions can make a person physically weak. Some diseases such as muscular degeneration actually make the muscles weak. Other diseases act on other parts of the body, and the body weakens because of its inability to generate new cells and tissues. Sometimes, muscles are unable to act because of the disruption of nerve control.

The second type of weakness in a person is usually is moral or psychological. Contained within this type are what are called weaknesses in character, attitude, and will power. Most weakness quotations and weakness quotes on this page are about this second type of weakness.

Weakness may not only be limited to individuals. Even societies, civilizations, beliefs seem to have their weaknesses. Where there is strength, it is inevitable there will be some weakness. What constitutes weakness is not easy to describe. Hermann Hesse, the Swiss author, said that every culture and tradition had its own weaknesses and strengths. Most people who lived within the boundaries of their generation and culture accepted these weaknesses without complaining, but the problem arose only when another culture or tradition was superimposed on the first, leading to clash of ideas, and possibly, an awareness of weaknesses inherent in a particular system. And this is what gave rise to dissatisfaction in people.

A lot of people are of the view that weakness, and not wickedness, makes people untrustworthy, particularly in a position of power. Others believe a person’s weakness can be a strength, an asset. They just have to learn to perceive their weaknesses the right way.

This may seem like it is easier said than done, but we do need to learnt to be in complete control of our weaknesses.

We have a collection of Inspirational weakness quotes to help you learn to control and/or harness your weaknesses.

Autumn is a contradiction in many ways. This season, unlike sunny summer, happy spring, or dark winter, has more than one idea or feeling associated with it. In ancient cultures, autumn meant celebrating the joy of harvest. It was a time when the hardworking farmer or fruit grower would finally get to reap the reward for the year’s backbreaking labor. Once the crops were gathered in, processed, and sold, it was time to relax, to celebrate, and to thank your favorite deity for the bounty. Harvest festivals all over the world are offshoots of ancient festivals, many dating to the pre-Christian era. Halloween is a modern variation of the ancient Samhain festival of the Celts. Samhain celebrated autumnal crop harvest.

Autumn has also been associated with different moods. While celebrations are certainly called for, the shorter days and cooling temperatures also signal a change of pace. The heady summer days are over, and the person has to now stop and reflect. For many renowned poets, autumn was associated with gloom and fading sunlight — the precursor to approaching winter.

Autumn’s most enduring symbol is the shedding of leaves. Think autumn, and you are reminded of a red maple or cherry leaf, or a red-brown oak leaf. The solemn beauty of the fiery red foliage draws people to itself, as many tourists will confirm. Mingled with the beauty is a reminder that all good things must some day be discarded, like the shed leaves, so that new discoveries, new ideas, and new hope can be born, just like the turning cycle of the seasons brings forth new leaves and bright sunshine.

We are bringing you some Inspiring Autumn Quotes..
